The results are in! The folks at the Iowa State Fair have sent us the identities of the folks who whipped up our favorite recipe entries in the AllSpice cooking contests at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. And now we can share the details with you!

The first-place, blue ribbon in the cookie category went to this recipe for Coconut Cardamom Butter Sandwich Cookies from AllSpice customer Bridget L. of Norwalk.
Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies by Ann G. of Ankeny won 2nd place.
Filled with dates, rolled up and sliced, Orange Spice Date Pinwheels, from customer Amy K. of Des Moines, won 3rd Place.
Best ice cream entries:
Taking the blue ribbon for ice cream is first place winner Nutty Goat Swirl Ice Cream, featuring spiced, toasted nuts and Cajeta Casera (Caramel Sauce). The caramel and the ice cream are both made with goat’s milk in this recipe created by customer Matthew P.
Another treat-inside-a-treat winning recipe is second place winner Homemade Baklava Ice Cream from customer Rebecca H. of West Des Moines.
Balsamic Peach Ice Cream created by customer Sally K. of Granger, Iowa took 3rd place.
Favorite Party Dips:
Cream cheese and pineapple, with fruity oils and balsamics, mixed with diced jalapeno won Bridget L of Norwalk the blue ribbon for her sweet, creamy, spicy AllSpice Tropical Dip recipe.
Customer Amy D. of Clive took 2nd place for her Southern Baked Crab and Artichoke Dip.
Red, White, and Spiced-up Blueberry Dip from customer Pamela R. of Norwalk, Iowa won 3rd place.
Best Original Chili Recipes:
The appropriately-named My Favorite Chili from customer Anita V. of Des Moines was our favorite, winning the 1st Place blue ribbon at our 2018 Iowa State Fair Chili Contest.
Another aptly-named entry, “All Spiced Up” Chili (or was that “AllSpice’d” Up, haha?) from customer Bridget L. of Norwalk, Iowa took the 2nd place prize.
Our Favorite Chile with Grilled Corn created by customer Anna K. of Ankeny, won 3rd Place at our 2018 Iowa State Fair Chili Contest!
