Culinary Fight Night: the first rule of Culinary Fight Night is …

Or… wait… was that the first rule of Fight Club …? Um. Okay. Scratch that. It’s the Culinary Fight Night, not fight club.

The first rule of Culinary Fight Night is ALWAYS TALK ABOUT CULINARY FIGHT NIGHT.

Here’s how it works:

Culinary_Fight_NightGuests are asked to RSVP, and then vote for their favorite chef, cooking style, and 3 secret ingredients. The 2 chefs, cooking style, and 3 ingredients with the most votes will take to the ring to fight it out and win money for their chosen charity!

The Des Moines bout of Culinary Fight Night is this Sunday, January 11, and benefits Central Iowa Shelter Services.

It will be a fierce battle to the… dessert? … between Dominic Iannarelli (Splash, Jethro’s) and Mike Holman (Dos Rios, Big City Burgers and Greens).

Dominic Iannarelli and Mike Holman, Brad Pitt and Edward Norton… Fight Club, Culinary Fight Night… You can see how we might’ve gotten confused. No? Well, anyway…

The $125 tickets will get you a six-course meal, and a ballot for choosing the top chef.
The chefs will be required to prepare 3 courses: appetizer, entree, and dessert for the audience and a 6-man celebrity judging panel. The judges, including Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie and ChezBonneFemme blogger Wini Moranville, will represent 75% of the final decision and the audience will determine the final 25%.
