Blue Cheese Bacon Butter


1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon finely crumbled, crisp-cooked bacon
1 to 2 tablespoons crumbled gorgonzola or blue cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic


Compound butter [sometimes called herb butter] is butter that has a flavor, or additional ingredient(s) added to it.

Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl using a mixer or wooden spoon.
Cover and chill in refrigerator for at least 1 hour [up to 24 hours] to allow flavors to blend.
Allow butter to come to room temperature before serving.
Yields 1/2 cup

If you’re picky about strong flavors, this butter is also great with just blue cheese, or just bacon and garlic.
