This recipe won second place in AllSpice’s 2017 Iowa State Fair Savory Snack Mix Contest.
10 Tbsp (1-1/4 sticks) Unsalted Butter
3 Cups Corn Chex
3 Cups Rice Chex
3 Cups Wheat Chex
2 Cups Mixed Nuts
1 Cup Pretzels
1 Cup Bagel Chips
1 tsp Garlic Powder
2-1/4 tsp House Seasoning
3/4 tsp Onion Powder
3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Preheat oven to 250°F. Cut the butter into 10-12 chunks and arrange in an 11″ x 17″ baking dish. Place dish in oven to melt butter as the oven heats up.
In a large bowl, mix together dry cereals, nuts, pretzels, and bagel chips. Toss to combine. In a small bowl, mix together dry spices and set aside.
Remove baking dish with melted butter from oven, then use a fork or wire whisk to mix the spices into the butter. Add Worcestershire sauce, whisking again to incorporate. Add the cereal mixture to the pan, and stir to coat the dry pieces with the buttery spice mixture.
Bake snack mix for 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove pan from oven and transfer snack mix to paper towels to cool completely before serving or storing in an air tight container.
