1 Cup warm milk
3 tsp instant yeast
1/2 Cup butter, room temperature
1/4 Cup sugar
3/4 tsp Sea Salt, Fine
1 tsp Garlic, Powder
1/2 tsp Parsley
1/2 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp Thyme
4 Cups flour
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and yeast. Allow mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes, or until the top has a layer of yeasty foam.
Add butter, sugar, eggs, and seasonings. Whisk together. Don’t worry if there are still butter chunks. Add flour and, using your hands or the dough hook attachment on your mixer, mix until dough is smooth but still slightly sticky. User your hands to form the dough into a ball.
Coat the sides of a clean bowl with a little oil, and place the dough inside. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and allow to rest in a draft-free, warm place for about 60-90 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.
Lightly grease a 9″ x 13″ pan. Divide the risen dough into 12-14 balls and arrange in the prepared baking dish. Allow rolls to rest and rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake rolls 22-25 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden.
While the rolls bake, stir together ingredients for the Garlic Butter. Brush the butter over the tops of the rolls right as they come out of the oven. Serve rolls while still warm.
If there are any rolls left over, they are perfect for making dainty sandwiches of leftover turkey or ham.
