Hot Buttered Rum


2 whole cloves
2 whole allspice berries
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp sugar
2 ounces dark rum
1 tsp sweet butter
Freshly grated whole nutmeg


A deliciously spicy drink for a cold winter night (or any night, for that matter!)

  1. Combine the cloves, allspice, cinnamon stick, and sugar in a mug, and add boiling water to fill.
  2. Let stand 5 minutes; add the rum and butter, and dust with nutmeg.
