Jodi’s Sugar Cookie Icing

Jodi’s sugar cookie icing dries hard and shiny. We think it’s the perfect icing for creating beautifully decorated cookies which can be stacked without making a mess of them.

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 T milk
  • 4 tsp light corn syrup (for the shine)
  • 1/2 tsp Almond Extract

  1. Combine powdered sugar and milk in a mixer until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until the icing is smooth and glossy.  Add additional milk to get to desired consistency.
  2. Divide and color with food coloring if desired.
  3. Paint icing on cookies with a brush.

If you’re adding sanding sugar or other decoration, be sure to do so before the icing hardens so it sticks to the cookie.
