2 Tbsp quick-cooking barley
2 Tbsp bulgur
2 Tbsp old-fashioned oats
1 Cup water
2 Tbsp raisins, golden raisins, or dried currants
1/4 tsp ground Saigon Cinnamon
1 Tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans
Combine the barley, bulgur, oats, and water in a heatproof 1-quart bowl. Microwave on highest energy setting for 2 minutes. Add dried fruit and sprinkle mixture with ground cinnamon; stir so that fruit and spices are distributed throughout the grain mixture. Microwave for an additinal 3 minutes. Remove bowl from microwave and stir (carefully! contents are hot!). Top with chopped nuts. Add a splash of milk, if desired, before serving.
Makes one serving.
