1/2 Cup black mustard seeds
1/4 Cup yellow mustard seeds
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 Cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 Tbs sugar
2 tsp salt
1 Tbs marjoram
Making your own gourmet mustards can be fun and rewarding! Experiment with the combinations – they’re endless, delicious, aromatic, and flavorful. This one uses dry red wine and red-wine vinegar, producing a rich and tangy mustard.
- In a glass container, combine mustard seeds with red wine and red-wine vinegar. Let sit 48 hours with liquid covering seeds.
- Add seeds/liquid and combine with the remaining ingredients in a food processor. Process until seeds become creamy, 4-6 minutes.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for at least 1 week before using to let the flavors develop. Keeps up to 1 month.
