1-1/2 Cups flour
3/4 Cups sugar
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
1/2 tsp Allspice, Ground
1/4 tsp Nutmeg, Ground
1/4 tsp Cinnamon, Sri Lankan
2/3 Cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp Vanilla Paste
2 Cups peeled and chopped apples
3 tsp Cinnamon Sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9″X5″ loaf pan and set aside.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, soda, salt, and spices. Add oil, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
Transfer batter to the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick, inserted in the middle of the loaf, comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
Run a butter knife along the edges of the pan to loosen the loaf. Leave the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack. Allow apple bread to cool completely before slicing.
Can be stored, in an air-tight container, for up to 1 week.
Notes From AllSpicer Anna: I make this bread about 4 times every fall, and honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever made it the same way twice. In this recipe, the spices (and amounts) are truly just suggestions. For a little variety, using Cloves, Ginger, Apple Pie Spice, or a pinch of Chili Powder are all delicious in this bread as well. You could also try sprinkling a little Caramel Sugar or Demerara Sugar on the top!
