March 10 is National Ranch Dressing Day, and AllSpice staffer Anna worried that we’d be remiss if we never told our friends about this important food holiday, and the salad dressing (and dip) that inspired it.
So here’s the 411 on America’s favorite dressing:
1 Pizza Crust
3 Cups Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
3 Tbsp Ranch Seasoning
8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 lb cooked and cubed chicken
Prepare your pizza crust according to the package directions.
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese and ranch seasoning. Spread the mixture evenly over your crust.
Sprinkle about 1-1/2 Cups of mozzarella over the cream cheese mixture. Top with chicken and bacon. Sprinkle remaining cheese evenly on top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
2-1/2 Tbsp dried Parsley
2-1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
2-1/2 tsp Onion Powder
3 tsp dried Minced Onion
2 tsp dried Dill Weed
2 tsp dried Chives
1-1/2 tsp Black pepper
1-1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
1/2 Cup powdered milk or powdered buttermilk
Combine all of your spices and powdered milk or buttermilk in a large bowl.
Transfer to an air-tight container and store in a cool, dry place, up to 1 year.
To make a salad dressing use 1 1/2 Tbsp seasoning to 1/2 Cup milk and 1/2 Cup mayonnaise. For a dip mix 1 1/2 Tbsp seasoning to 2/3 Cup sour cream and 1/4 cup mayonnaise and mix well. Let set at least 2 hours before serving.
2 Cups sour cream
2 tsp Adobo Seasoning
1 Tbsp Dried Parsley Flakes
1 tsp Dried Minced Onions
1 tsp Dill Weed
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Sugar
¼ tsp Pepper
Put all ingredients in a bowl. Use a spoon or spatula to mix everything together until dip is desired consistency (and all lumps are smoothed). Serve with your favorite potato chip or crunchy fresh vegetable.
