Don’t be fooled by the name. Rotisserie Rub, this week’s spotlight spice, is good for more than just rotisserie chicken (although that’s not a bad use for it – more on that in a minute…). It’s great as a multi-purpose “house” seasoning. Try it in your next potato, rice, or stuffing dish along with chicken broth to add a rotisserie chicken flavor. It’s also tasty on turkey, palatable on pork, and flavorsome on fish.
And of course, it’s great for making your own rotisserie chicken at home, which is pretty easy to do. Making your own can help you avoid added sugar which is common in the prepared version you’ll find in the supermarket. Whole chickens are almost always a better value than wings, thighs, or breasts alone, and there are hundreds of recipes to help you create a variety of delicious dishes from your rotisserie chicken.
Grab yourself a jar in the shop or web store and give it a try for yourself!
